Series:  A World in Need

Topic: Peace in the Blesser of All Nations

Text: Genesis 12:1-3, Matthew 8:5-13

SCRIPTURE: Conflict is everywhere. The list is too long of conflicts between nations, people groups, political parties, families and on and on and on. Is there a day when you don’t hear about another conflict – or hear someone making sure you hear “their side” of one? In the midst of conflict, we stop to focus on all of Scripture pointing to Jesus. Where do you see Jesus in the Genesis verses (12:1-3)?

Take a moment to consider the faith of the centurion in the Matthew passage. Ask yourself, how strong is my faith in God’s power and sovereignty? Do I really believe Jesus is the answer to the ills of this world?

ACCOUNTABILITY: Let’s consider the topic this week, “Peace in the Blesser of all Nations.” What does that mean for your life, for your family, for your country, for this world?

TRANSFORMATION: If you don’t feel your life shows the peace of Jesus, “the blesser of all nations,” why do you think that is? Especially this month, when many people are focused on Christmas, what can you do to better reflect Him? Talk about very practical, even very small things that can make a difference.

He Gets Us

Though Jesus walked the earth 2,000 years ago, He still knows about the problems you face today. Not only does Jesus know what plagues us as a culture, He gets us. Jesus can relate. He was tempted, too. He was disrespected, too. He was doubted, too. He mourned, too. He suffered, too.

Faith Church is joining other churches in the Chicagoland area for the series, He Gets Us. We’ll explore that Jesus knows about our insecurity, exhaustion, anxiety, guilt, loneliness and grief. Join us for this new series as we find assurance in knowing we aren’t alone in this world. We have a Savior who gets us and cares about what we are feeling.
