Title: Anticipating God’s Faithfulness

Text:  2 Peter 3:8-13

Scripture: Compare our earthly perspective of time with God’s perspective. Talk with your group about verse 8, ”…with the Lord one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” Before we assume this is God’s “formula for time,” compare it with the words of Psalm 90.

Accountability: We ARE anticipating God’s faithfulness. His faithfulness to be patient with us, but also His faithfulness to do what He says He will do. Discuss together verses 10-12. Here it is in the Message: “But when the Day of God’s Judgment does come, it will be unannounced, like a thief. The sky will collapse with a thunderous bang, everything disintegrating in a raging inferno, earth and all its works exposed to the scrutiny of Judgment.”

Transformation: Look at verse 14.  If we knew this week would be our last, how would that change the way we live?
