Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 3:14-17

  1. What do you think it means to “meditate” on God’s Word? Do you have daily practices where you read and meditate on the Word of God?
  2. Paul speaks about how Timothy has been “acquainted” with God’s Word from childhood. Did you have any practices from when you were a child that involved the Scriptures? If you are a parent, what kind of practices do you have or want to have with your family?
  3. Paul says that Scripture can make us “wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (v. 15). What have you learned about Jesus from the Scriptures recently?
  4. Paul says that the Scriptures are profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness (v. 16). How have you seen God use Scripture in you life in these ways? Share a recent story.
  5. Do you see the study of God’s Word as a lifelong venture? Discuss with the group what steps you are going to take today to continue to meditate on God’s Word.  Decide how you will hold one another accountable.
