Who Is My Neighbor?

  |

Continuing the Conversation Questions
Neighborly | Scripture Reference: Luke 10:25-37
Discuss the following questions with your Small Group:

1.    Read Luke 10: 25-28. The lawyer asks Jesus what he should do to inherit eternal life. What is wrong with this question?
2.    Read Luke 10:29. The lawyer wanted to show he is worthy of eternal life by his own value or efforts. What are some ways that you try to justify yourself? Even if you are a Christian, how do you try to show that you are worthier or more righteous than others?
3.    Read Luke 10:30-37. All three travelers witnessed the same crime scene. What were their reactions? Read James 2:15-17. What should compassion lead to?
4.    Read Matthew 25:35-40; 1 John 3:17 and Proverbs 19:17. Who are our neighbors? How are we to care for them? Is it our responsibility to be a neighbor to all? What actions can you take to care for your “neighbors?”

The Ten Commandments

Most people know about the Ten Commandments, even if they do not necessarily know what they are. Rather than viewing them as relics of another time, the Ten Commandments reflect how we can love God and love others. Our response to them matters because it shows whether or not we trust God and believe what He says is best for us. Join us as we explore how the Ten Commandments lead us to a better way of life.
