Seeking Our Next Senior Pastor
In late 2025, our beloved Senior Pastor Bob Bouwer shared with the Board his intention to retire from full-time ministry at Faith Church in the spring of 2027. While this marks the start of an important transition, it is also an opportunity for us to reflect with deep gratitude on Pastor Bob’s faithful leadership over the past 36 years.
To prepare for this transition, the Board formed a Succession Task Force, which began meeting in January 2026. Since then, the Task Force and the Board have been prayerfully working to establish a Search Committee to guide the process of discerning who God is calling to serve as the next senior leader. Our hope is to identify this individual by Fall 2026, allowing for a thoughtful and intentional transition alongside Pastor Bob.

This year – 2026 – marks Pastor Bob’s 36th year as serving as Senior Pastor for Faith Church. After much prayer, dialogue and reflection, and with his recent diagnosis, he believes this is the right time to step into retirement. Pastor Bob will retire from full-time ministry at Faith Church in the spring of 2027.
We appreciate that Pastor Bob let our leaders know well in advance, enabling us to make thoughtful plans to help ensure a successful transition while causing the least amount of disruption possible.
We are utilizing the guidance and wisdom of a nationally recognized consulting firm to help with this process. As we developed a Spirit-led succession plan, the Board formed a Succession Task Force, which began meeting in January 2026.
Since then, the Task Force and the Board have been prayerfully working to establish a Search Committee to guide the process of discerning who God is calling to serve as the next senior leader. Our hope is to identify this individual by Fall 2026, allowing for a thoughtful and intentional transition alongside Pastor Bob.
The search is expected to take place over the coming months, and we hope to name a candidate in the fall. For the most effective transition planning, Pastor Bob will remain the Senior Pastor until spring of 2027. He will work in tandem with the Senior Pastor Elect to train and mentor for a thoughtful and successful transition.

- Be positive and trust God. The primary leader of Faith Church will still be Jesus. He sees what’s ahead. He’ll guide us through it all. Be filled with joy and trust God to lead.
