The Journey

Are we paying close attention to the continued spiritual growth of adults?

So we are no longer to be children…But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head. – Ephesians 4:14-15

The Journey is a very intentional process to help you learn about why your Creator placed you on this earth. It’s a spiritual walk as you experience spiritual growth.

Who Is God? Who am I? How do I fit into His plan?

You will join a small group of like-minded Christ-followers to look at these questions from many different perspectives. The Journey is a place where God can meet us and help us grow.

The Journey is a 26-week process for groups of 6-10 people, all guided by a facilitator trained in how adults learn. Groups meet weekly to share their reactions to the material.

I would recommend The Journey because I believe God truly honors and blesses the process. I have personally witnessed how numerous people earnestly sought the answer to the question, “What does God want me to do?” and God answered clearly – sometimes radically.

The pathway for those lives, including my own, have been wonderfully altered to an even greater trajectory for God’s glory.

The Journey has played an intricate role in my growth. The sense of community and camaraderie is like nothing I have ever experienced. The content gripped my attention and my heart, and positioned it to the Father and His mission. This is what we all need. There have been moments of revelation, tears, and healing, all in this simple invitation to GROW. Through the journey, my whole posture has changed toward God and others. It has helped me lean into the Spirit of GOD, have clarity on who He is, and realize much more clearly WHO I AM in HIM.

I took the journey at a point in my life that in some ways was the busiest time ever. We had three children and I was pregnant with our fourth. We made a commitment to participate faithfully and paid for childcare every week so we could go. It was a worthwhile and life changing investment of time and resources. I was able to see how God was shaping and forming me through the good and the bad experiences of my life, discover the passion and calling God has given me, and experience the gift of sharing life in deep ways with a group of friends. Fifteen years later, I still reflect on this group as one of the most formative things I have experienced in my faith walk.

My Journey experience was one of unexpected growth, bonding friendships and a reawakening of discipleship in my Lord.

What I thought was a Bible study, was really a true journey of growth and opportunity to have a time to dig deeper in myself while being surrounded by others. We connected in ways I didn’t expect and will never forget.

I had no idea how God would use this time to shape and reshape me, and to stretch me in the Spirit in a way that was so timely in my life. It was amazing to see that each one in my group also received the impeccable timing of the events unfolding for them as well.

My biggest take away? I was always looking for God in the path ahead. Through the Journey, God showed me He had been there all along, and in a big way! In all the good, the bad, and especially the ugly of my life, He was shepherding me the whole way. I just didn’t see Him until I looked back.
