Text: Acts 2:42-47

SCRIPTURE: 

• The Church described in Acts 2 devoted themselves to four things. What were those four things? How did those four things work together?
• The Church in Acts lived in community. What do you think we miss by living in a society that values independence (over community) so much? 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Verse 46 says, “Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house.” Talk about the word “devoted.” What are you devoted to?
• Learning from the teaching of the Apostles was a major reason for their gathering. Another priority was fellowship. “Their ‘fellowship’ in this context is a united commitment to caring for the needy among them with a generosity characteristic of the Lord Jesus. Likewise, their unity is expressed in sharing meals together in their houses and their common devotion to prayer.” (The Gospel Coalition Commentary)
• Compare and contrast the above explanation of fellowship with ours today. 
• Why do you think eating together was a priority? What happens when we eat together?

TRANSFORMATION:

• The Church today  gathers in many ways at many times. We gather in weekend services to worship God corporately and to be challenged to holy living by God’s Word. And some gather midweek in prayer groups or small groups
• When and how do you gather? How is your investment of time in fellowship meeting your spiritual needs?
• If not, how might that change in 2024?
• Spend time with your group praying about what fellowship might look like. Seek God’s answer.
