The Board has authority over major decisions of the church, including oversight of pastoral staff, building projects, budget approval and overall vision of Faith Church. It is made up of the Senior Pastor and eight Elders.
The Executive Operations Committee consists of a few members of the Board and executive-level staff. This Committee helps execute the Board’s vision with all of Faith Church’s locations in mind; makes employment decisions; ensures ministries have the tools they need to succeed; and offers guidance for our staff in some day-to-day operations.
Each Faith location’s lead pastor makes up the Pastoral Team, which is responsible for executing the Board’s vision, focusing on implementation at each location.
The responsibilities of the elders include strategic planning for the spiritual health and care of the congregation; overseeing care and shepherding of ministries; coordinating visits and counseling when needed; and administering discipline, reconciliation and restoration when necessary. This Team also oversees and evaluates the preaching and sacraments as well as the approval of new members to the church.
Each location’s group of elders also nominate one individual to serve on an Elder Executive Committee, to more efficiently handle decision-making that affects all locations, acting on recommendations from location leaders.
The responsibilities of the Deacon Team include oversight of all financial matters of the church, including the annual budget and any stewardship campaigns that are conducted; assisting members in need through financial aid and money management (Christian Aid Ministry); and caring for widows and widowers.
Each location’s group of deacons also nominate one individual to serve on a Deacon Executive Committee, to more efficiently handle decision-making that affects all locations, acting on recommendations from location leaders.
The Nomination Committee consists of six members who are affirmed by the congregation. The Committee members are selected by the Board from congregational nominations. It is the responsibility of the Nomination Team to administer the nomination process, review the nominations for the various leadership positions – elder, deacon and Board – and conduct interviews in order to present a single slate for approval by the Board. The congregation is then asked to affirm the single slate at the annual congregational meeting, which takes place during weekend services in June.
