2020 – Looking Back and Looking Forward

  |

Topic: Looking Back, Looking Forward

Text: Isaiah 43:15-21

“I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.” Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, who brings forth chariot and horse, army and warrior; they lie down, they cannot rise, they are extinguished, quenched like a wick: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The wild beasts will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.”

As we close out 2020, take time to look back at this unusual year. What did we learn? What did we do well? Where could we have done better? Take time to look back, to reflect on the challenges and remember the praises.

As we step into 2021 with hope, spend time with God asking for His strength and His hope. Remember that the same God who promised a way of hope for the Israelites is the same God we serve today. Together, let’s commit to “declaring His praise.”

Celebration Weekend

We celebrate small steps and momentous milestones. This weekend we celebrate commitment and life change by covenanting with those being baptized, cheering on adults in this symbolic declaration of faith and stepping up to point the children to Jesus. We commit to walking alongside those professing their faith in Christ and reach out to those transferring into our family, creating space for them to find community and their place of service amongst us. This is the weekend we celebrate the visual reminder of how God is restoring and transforming the world one relationship at a time and lean into the known of the much more we are called to do. Celebrate with us!
