The Board, commonly referred to as ‘the Consistory,’ is required to make the larger decisions of the church, such as budget approval, the hiring and dismissal of full-time ordained staff, and approval of large expenditures. It consists of pastors, elders and deacons.
The primary roles of the Leadership Vision Team are leadership, problem-solving and strategic planning for the vision of Faith Church.
This team is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Church, making sure the vision and calling of Faith Church is upheld and the impact on this Church’s ministries is considered. The Executive Team makes decisions and initiates changes for the betterment of both the staff culture & congregational well-being.
The responsibilities of the elders include strategic planning for the spiritual health and care of the congregation, encouraging shepherding and caring ministries throughout the congregation, coordinating visits and counseling when needed, and administering discipline, reconciliation and restoration when necessary. This Team also oversees and evaluates the preaching and sacraments as well as the approval of new members to the church.
The responsibilities of the deacons include oversight of all financial matters of the church including the annual budget and any stewardship campaigns that are conducted, strategic planning for the financial needs of the church, stewardship training and awareness, and assisting members in need through financial aid and money management (Christian Aid Ministry). The Stewardship Team Deacons report to the Consistory and congregation as needed with each campus overseen by a team of Elders and Deacons.
The Nomination Team consists of six members who are affirmed by the congregation. The Nomination Team slate are selected by the Consistory from the congregational nominations. It is the responsibility of the Nomination Team to administer the nomination process, review the nominations for the various leadership positions – elder, deacon and LVT – and conduct interviews in order to present a single slate for approval by the Consistory. The Congregation is then asked to affirm the single slate at the annual congregational meeting, which takes place annually during services in June.
