Assured | Scripture Reference: John 6:37-40
Discuss the following questions with your Small Group:

  1. In verse 35, Jesus says:  “I AM the bread of life.”  The chapter begins with Jesus feeding the 5,000, and then He walks on water.  In Moses’ day, the people experienced the miracle of manna from heaven and the walking on dry ground through the sea.  It could be that the people think of Jesus as the Prophet that Moses spoke about [Deuteronomy 18:15].  How is Jesus more than than I prophet?  Or how do we see that He is greater than Moses?
  2. C. S. Lewis made the claim that Jesus is either, a Liar, a Lunatic or the LORD.  Explain why Lewis’ statement is important in light of Jesus’ claims in verses 35-40.

  3. Many people believe you can lose your salvation.  Discuss how the following verse speaks to this?  1 John 2:19  “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.”

  4. What does Jesus mean when He says in John 6:40, “I will raise Him on the last day?”

  5. When it comes to your eternal destiny, share what verses give you comfort?

  6. The last three weeks we have looked at John 20:24-29, Romans 10:9-13 and now John 6:35-45.  What has been most helpful to you as a believer?

Truth in Genesis

What’s truth? We live in a society where people tend to define their own truths, using their own guidelines. Where values and beliefs are spun in such a way that makes us question if God’s way really is the best.

But does a Universal Truth exist? We believe there is and it’s been recorded in roughly 757,000 words. We invite you to join us as we open that source, God’s Word, and equip you to have complicated conversations with those who are defining their own truth.
