Continue the Conversation Questions
Vertical | Scripture Reference: Psalm 51
Discuss the following questions with your Small Group:
- What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “Confession” or someone “confessing their sins”?
- Why is it so hard for us (or for you in particular) to say, “I am wrong”?
- How does seeing God as a merciful God help us think about confession?
- David speaks about the depth of his sin in verses 3-6 of Psalm 51. What elements of these verses stand out to you? Do you feel similarly about your own sin?
- What would be missing from our understanding of confession if we did not have verses 7-19 of this Psalm?
- Do you ever struggle to feel forgiven by God? How can this Psalm and/or your church community help you experience and feel this in greater ways?
- How can you incorporate the practice of confession in your daily walk with God as an individual? What about in community (in families, small groups, our church gatherings)?
