Scripture: Luke 6:43-49

“Fruit” is such a common subject and metaphor in Scripture. Talk through verses 43-45. How is this verse about fruit referencing our lives?

Verse 45 talks about the “treasure” of our hearts. What do we value/treasure? And how does what we value become evident in our day-to-day lives?

Verses 48-49 talk about the foundation of a building. Again, how does this relate to our lives? What kind of foundation are we building? Do we need to make any adjustments?

Verse 46 says, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord, and not do what I tell you?’” Compare this verse with Matthew 7:21. So does it really matter how we live? Why?
