EASTER

He is Risen!

Text:  Philippians 3:7-11

SCRIPTURE:

  • It might be good to walk through the events of Acts 9:1-20 to get a refresher on Paul’s transformation.
  • Read the Philiippians 3 passage in The Message.
  • Read Mark 8:36. How does it relate to this passage?

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • We all have things/people/accomplishments that are important to us (outside of our relationship with Jesus). List your top three and share with your group.
  • Is Paul saying the things that were once important to us are now liabilities?
  • How do we fit those things that are important to us into Paul’s words in verse 8?

TRANSFORMATION:

  • This challenge feels consistent with our call to be “in the world but not of it,” (John 17:13-15). How can this play out in our everyday lives?
  • In our society which is so fixated on accomplishments and material wealth, is this way of life really possible?
  • Do you know anyone who has succeeded in living this way?
  • Can those “things” which consumed us before a relationship with Jesus be put into perspective with our new life in Christ?

“No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the Resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good.

“Few people seem to realize that the Resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone to a worldview that provides the perspective to all of life.”

Complicated Conversations

Truth in Genesis

What’s truth? We live in a society where people tend to define their own truths, using their own guidelines. Where values and beliefs are spun in such a way that makes us question if God’s way really is the best.

But does a Universal Truth exist? We believe there is and it’s been recorded in roughly 757,000 words. We invite you to join us as we open that source, God’s Word, and equip you to have complicated conversations with those who are defining their own truth.
