Joni & Friends Family Retreat

Family Retreat is a week where families experience acceptance and belonging in a tangible way.  Families have an unforgettable, spiritually-nourishing, community-building, vacation-type experience.

Here are ways you can get involved:  

Donate to the Family Retreat Scholarship Fund or contribute to a welcome basket by writing a check to “Faith Church”, with “Family Retreat” in the memo line or via this Donation Form. If you are having problems with this form contact us.

Volunteer to Serve as a STM(short term missionary) for a week:

Anyone (age 16+) can join the serving team for the Joni & Friends Family Retreat happening at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference Center in Muskegon, MI.  This summer we have families from Faith Church attending all 4 of these weeks:  

Week 1: June 3-7 (Volunteers arrive June 2)
Week 2: June 10-14 (Volunteers arrive June 9)
Week 3: June 17-21 (Volunteers arrive June 16)
Week 4: Aug. 26-30 (Volunteers arrive Aug. 25)
Week 4 is designed as an adult only retreat. All family members will be 18 +. 

Family Retreats offer a safe and accepting, Christ-centered environment where families fellowship with other families who face similar challenges, build lasting memories, and renew their hope in God.

A caring and trained Short Term Missionary (STM/Volunteer) will serve each family throughout the week. Each STM will attend all age-related activities with the children/individual with special needs, allowing parents and caregivers to participate in programming with other parents and caregivers to make the week restful and enjoyable.

There will be daily age appropriate camp activities including exciting worship, Bible lessons, crafts, and recreation. Adults will enjoy Christ-centered worship, teaching, and practical seminars that address family life and issues related to life with a disability.

Cost to serve as a STM is $515. Limited scholarship funds are available for volunteers from Faith Church: click here to apply for financial support and to get a Faith Team T-shirt.
